7th December

Went back to Wella to work with Jack again, today I got to shoot some step by step shots that will be published in hair magazine, I learnt how to use one flash soft box to completely light an entire model for the shots and also had a go at different angles and compositions to advertise the products and stylist within the frame. I found it hard to incorporate all aspects of the shot at the beginning but gradually progressed and so am definitely ready to tackle it again and bring tighter constructs that really show off the step by step action. I have also been invited to go on tuesday and shoot session photography for ghd and so can not wait to get a hold of that.

30th November

Went to london to work as Jack Eames assistant at Wella studios in London today, I was given the opportunity to set up a studio, with a back drop, soft boxes, flash brolly's ect and so I learnt how to set up all the gear necessary for a pro studio shoot. I then sat at the lap top screen next to the artistic director whilst choosing which shots were the best and which ones should be used to cover and fill the pages of Hair magazine. It was an incredible experience and has really helped me see things within my own photography that before i would never have noticed. I showed one of my street fashion images and we talked about the pros and cons of using an on camera flash, and how for some modelling shoots a ring flash is the best thing. i was also given invaluable advice on how to light outside on the streets with minimal equipment

Monday 1st November

Looking forward to the next street fashion shoot am just coming up with ideas for it now but i know i want to shoot this one in day light to see what I can do with my homeless high fashion edge without the dark gritty lighting and sinister expression. I am also looking into the other parts of my portfolio and have come up with using urban culture fashion on the elderly, colour bounding pair of adidas shoes and an extravagant flat peak sandwiching the beige and browns of the clothes the elderly wear.

Had my first street fashion shoot today, it went really well and i got some great shots, had a little difficult controlling the light and so far out shots weren't really an option as I lost the focus on the model in darkness, the flash held up well but wasn't bright enough, well upload some edited previews in the days to come.

A little disappointing but my model has fallen ill however this will give me enough time to research more thoroughly into the concepts behind the shoot and am still on for next week the day probably changing to thursday evening instead of Wednesday.

Ideas have been sprouting for my media storm stills video and one in particular that is standing out to me is the red light district of london, i visited their once by driving through with my dad when I was quite a bit younger and now that i am of age I would love to explore it further and this time bring back the evidence. Its a strange place but very in key with street photography, whether I would capture it out the window of a car window like Lee Friedlander did with america or wether i go closer I don't know yet but i'm sure safety comes first with this one. I like the fact that it takes me out of my comfort zone but how far ill have to think about.

Have broken my card reader today so the upload and editing of my fashion shoot will be slightly delayed however the shoot is going to take place on wednesday evening, I went out today and got some more shots of the locations I will be shooting just to get a rough idea of how much light I will be needing and how busy each location will be. i have the opportunity to shoot again next week so i can iron out any problems that may occur. Am looking forward to it!
